Peltor Sport® was founded in 2019 with a mission to provide high-quality hearing protection for athletes and sportsmen. Our products allow users to pursue their passions without compromising their hearing health and safety.
Our History
The idea for Peltor Sport® came about when our founder, James Wilson, suffered permanent hearing damage after years of playing drums in a band without proper ear protection. He realized that many other musicians and athletes were risking their hearing every time they played their sport or instrument. James saw an opportunity to create hearing protection specifically designed for sports and music to prevent the same thing from happening to others.
After months of research and product development, Peltor Sport® officially launched in 2019. We started out small, initially offering just three products: electronic earmuffs, passive earmuffs, and earplugs. But we quickly expanded our catalog to include a wide range of innovative hearing protection to suit any sport or activity.
Over the past three years, Peltor Sport® has grown rapidly through word-of-mouth as more athletes and musicians discovered the importance of protecting their hearing. We now offer nearly two dozen products designed to provide maximum hearing protection without impeding performance. And we ship Peltor Sport® gear to customers around the globe who trust us to keep their ears safe.

Our Testing
Every Peltor Sport® product undergoes rigorous lab testing to meet the highest standards for hearing protection:
- ANSI Testing – We test our earmuffs and earplugs against American National Standards Institute protocols to ensure they achieve target Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR).
- Octave Band Analysis – We conduct frequency-specific attenuation testing to guarantee our products consistently block hazardous noise across all pitches.
